Christmas Keepsakes Pocket with Hello from Liz Mathews

This class is an optional paid part of the Jingle Ball.  You will need an entrance ticket to the Jingle Ball as well as a class ticket to attend.  Jingle Ball tickets and class tickets go on sale on October 16th.  Class previews are so you can see what classes will be available for you to purchase on that date.  
All classes will be recorded so that paid students may access them for up to 30 days after the Ball concludes.

Do you have an old family Christmas photo you love, a Christmas card you’ll keep forever or maybe a special cookie recipe passed down through the years? Maybe you’ve just found a trinket that reminds you of Christmas’ past or are you taking a special trip this season? The Christmas Keepsakes Pocket is a beautiful way to preserve and display souvenirs of what makes the holidays magical for you!


We’ll create the framed, stitched pocket together during class and deck it with festive treasures I’ve gathered for you, all while you continue adding small keepsakes you come across throughout the season. Your Christmas Keepsake Pocket will be overflowing with memories and become a bespoke holiday heirloom!


These would also make heartwarming gifts this holiday season! They are quick to finish,
sentimental and sure to be loved by anyone who receives one!
Class kits will include everything you need to make a beautiful pocket and fill with festive items (as shown in the photos). Choose one of the three different patterns included in the chart pack to stitch on the front of your pocket or finish them as small, framed pieces.

This class includes a festive series of emails from Liz that will begin arriving when you enroll inclass and continue until after the Jingle Ball wraps up. Liz will help you learn to spot items that you can add to your pocket, provide further instructions, share the merriment of the season with you and provide you with a surprise or two!


This beginner-friendly class will utilize hand sewing techniques (no glue!) and is Aida friendly.


With prestitching complete, we’ll be able to finish the Christmas Keepsake Pocket together in class during the Jingle Ball!

CLASS KITS:

If you purchase a class kit you will receive- 32 count Weeks Dye Works “Coquina” linen (not yet available to purchase!), full skeins of Weeks Dye Works threads, Pellon interfacing, red ticking fabric and antique mother of pearl buttons.  In addition, you will receive a collection of items to fill your pocket which includes an authentic antique Christmas postcard, necessary tools for hand sewing and finishing, mounting board, PDF and printed chart pack, the festive series of emails and some surprises, too!

You will need to provide your own 8 x 10-inch photo frame for class and Liz will give you
details on that within the class emails.

PDF ONLY:

If you purchase a PDF class you will receive- a complete supply list of the items you’ll need to self-source to create your Christmas Keepsake Pocket, a PDF download of the chart pack and the festive series of emails.

The finishing instructions packet (complete with photos and details) will be included in the class email sent just prior to class.

Additional items you’ll need for class include iron and mat, needle, scissors, towel and ruler.
